Artist's Bio
Primarily an oil painter, Chris is known for figural works and interior scenes. Her sports figures, dancers and diners have shown in regional, national, and international exhibitions, earning awards. Her landscapes, florals and still lifes have earned many awards as well.
After graduating from Western Michigan University's Fine Arts program, Chris married and concentrated on raising and supporting a family. After moving to Indiana, Chris picked up a brush to paint for the first time in a quarter of a century. Within a few months a First in Oils from the Professional Division of the Indianapolis Art Center began the accumulation of awards. Recently, with the youngest child grown and independant, Chris has expanded from state and midwest shows to national and international exhibitions.
Chris has studied with David Leffel, Greg Kreutz, Ken Backhaus, George Strickland, David Slonim, C.W. Mundy, Carolyn Anderson, and Ken Auster.
